The contemporary art magazine e-cart was founded in 2003 as an independent initiative, aiming at offering a free resource on the contemporary art in Romania, available online in a bi-lingual (Romanian and English) version. Also it aimed at presenting artistic projects from this country in a larger, regional and international context, as well as at encouraging the development of art criticism.
E-cart.ro Association was founded in February 2006 in Campina, with the purpose of extending the e-cart project, continuing to realize the magazine but also websites for other projects, printing different publications and participating in projects of contemporary art and culture.
E-cart.ro endeavors to promote the independent art scene in Romania, to set off projects with a multi-disciplinary approach and to engage a diverse public in the construction of the current artistic discourse.
